Here's my ideas for a tax system that would make it easy on everyone, and put some balance back into our economy. No income or property tax, with a handful of exceptions (say for $1M+ salaries, with adjustment for inflation). Just sales tax. You can invest, spend money on necessities, and you avoid these taxes (or get reduced rates for investing in some forms). Then, that way, one can get the necessities at rock-bottom price, enjoy a house, enjoy a modest income, and pretty much do whatever they want, while taking the hassle out of taxes and upkeeping the government.
