Creating issues Posted on Friday, August 20, 2004 I was wondering how you create new issues for the political machine? I was taking on Jimmy Carter with Ronald Reagan and trying to mold it into the 1980 Presidential campaign. However the issues were all wrong. For one thing- terrorism, war in Iraq, and other things like that weren't very high on the American public's list of concerns then. I'm looking to add these issues to the game to more accurately represent the 1980s- Nuclear arms reduction treatys Star Wars (the missile defense system) Soviet expansion in Afghanistan Arms race/arms build up Iranian hostage crisis Libyan terrorism Space Shuttle program Soviet appeasement Berlin Wall Grenada/Cuba crisis Panama intervention Iran-Contra Iran-Iraq war On top of that I want to eliminate the war in Iraq issue. Because there was no war between the U.S. and Iraq in the 1980s. So how would I go about doing all this?
