I like John Kerry.

Why? I'm not afraid of terrorists. I sat in a stadium with 111,000 other football fans this weekend and didn't bat an eyelash. I really don't consider them a threat. If I did, I'd be more sympathetic towards the other guy. But eh...not something I worry about. We had good security before and better security now. Our president did his job, and now his term is up.

I think Kerry is much stronger domestically which is something that benefits me as a citizen. The war in Iraq isn't doing much for my taxes and I think a $7 minimum wage is a good idea. Also, I don't know how Bush is going to survive another 4 years and still cut taxes. Didn't Reagan raise taxes to cope with military spending? See, that makes sense to me. Somebody's got to pay the bill.

Kerry doesn't strike me as a wartime president. The war in Iraq is limited to insurgent and foreign fighters for the most part, so I really do trust him when it comes to doing the clean up work and then getting back to domestic issues, what I think Americans really care about. I think too many of us have lost sight of peaceful times before 2001 and forget what its like to not be at war. Kerry is a stronger domestic policy president, which is what I think is good for us now. I definitely didn't want Al Gore around during 9/11, but now that Bush has severely crippled the terrorists and ousted Saddam Hussien, I'm ready for a change.
