Eisenhower vs Frank Underwood Popular vote margin

Posted on Monday, March 28, 2016

I created a customized Dwight Eisenhower and I made his policy platform resemble the moderate, liberal Republican he actually was and I pit against my customized Frank Underwood from House of Cards.

I won an electoral vote landslide. I had a clean sweep of the South, taking even the states where Obama and Bill Clinton won during their respective elections. I reclaimed the whole Midwest bar Illinois for the Republican Party and I regained Colorado and Nevada.  Pennsylvania, Maine and New Hampshire all turned red.

With a customized Richard Nixon as my running mate, I narrowed the Democrats’ margins in the Pacific Coast [I nearly took California] and I used my base as a candidate from Pennsylvania [where Eisenhower retired and had a family farm] to give them a rough time in New York, New Jersey and Maryland.

Yet, despite the electoral vote landslide and the snatching of many blue states, I only received 51.4% to Underwood’s 48.6%, which is all the more surprising because his credibility rating is almost zero.

Any ideas on what caused the narrow margin?
